Facility Description
Schoellkopf Hall, originally known as the Schoellkopf Memorial Training House was constructed in 1913 as a memorial to Henry Schoellkopf ('02). Located at the northern end of Schoellkopf Field this symmetrical Italian Renaissance Building is constructed of yellow brick set in a Flemish bond. A two story central wing projects forward from the front facade and features an arched entryway accentuated by classical columns. several secondary entrances contain flat hoods supported by brackets. Multi-paned sidelights and transoms surround the recessed windows on the first floor. Directly above the windows are two belt courses of vertical brick surrounding a decorative diamond pattern of darker brick. The hipped roof is covered with red Spanish tile and is punctuated with dormers. The eaves have decorative brackets beneath. On the south facade, the lower story is faced with rough native stone laid randomly while the second story is of gray tapestry brick. Attached to the rear is a concrete balustrade.
